Make & Take Reading Fluency: Grades 2nd-4th
Looking to get some extra reading practice this summer? Come join us and work on your reading fluency.  We'll have fun practicing and acting out readers' theatre, poems, timed passages games and silly stories.  You'll get to make a collection of all your favorites to take with you on your summer adventures!

Explosive Science: Grades 3rd-4th
Do you love science? How about breaking things? Do you like explosions, magnets, and electricity? Come join this hands on, messy club where you won't just learn about science, but you’ll experience it with all your senses.

Make & Take Journals: Grades 4th-6th
Come learn the art of designing your own bullet journal. Participants will investigate different layouts, doodles, lettering and bannering to design their own 16 page journal.

Club Scientific Jr. Chemist: Worms & Goo: Grades K-3rd
Potions, bubbles and eruptions! Campers will be learning about polymers and making instant worms, magic sand, gravity goo, doing a candy color experiment and making their own bubble gum. Campers will learn the importance of taking accurate measurements when creating our exciting concoctions and will use scientific methods while conducting their experiments! This camp will be a BLAST (Literally!)

*For a full-day camp experience, sign up for both Jr. Chemist Camps. Campers who sign up for both are welcome to bring their sack lunch, drink and two snacks and eat with our instructors from noon-1pm.

Club Scientific - Hollywood Special Effects Camp: Grades 3rd-6th
Join us for a full-day immersive experience to learn the science behind Hollywood's special effects! Activities will demonstrate concepts related to light, sound, perception, illusion and set building. Campers will also learn various special effect make-up techniques working with the same materials used by professional make-up artists to simulate cuts, bruises, artificial blood and old age. *Please bring a sack lunch, a drink and two snacks.

STEM - Chain Reaction Camp: Grades 1st-4th
Calling all engineers! Sometimes people build things to make complicated tasks easier. In this camp however, we will create complex inventions to complete simple tasks, like ringing a bell, popping a balloon, moving a toy car, etc. We will follow the Engineering Design Process to help us choose a simple task, spend time researching and planning, and finally create and improve our machines until we have success. On the last day of camp, we will share and explain how our contraptions work!

Bridge To Algebra: 9th Graders
Prevent the “summer learning loss” and prepare your incoming freshman for Algebra I. The “Bridge to Algebra” will focus on honing basic skills needed to succeed in freshman algebra.  We will also get a head start on concepts covered during the first semester of freshman Algebra. Mr. Williams, the instructor, is a certified Algebra teacher with 15 years’ experience working with struggling learners.

Math Pentathlon: Grades K-3rd
Do you love playing board games and thinking mathematically? This is the spot for you! Math Pentathlon is a program of interactive problem-solving games. Each division focuses on 5 unique games that strengthen basic math concepts and utilize problem solving strategies. All games align with national and state mathematics standards and stimulate strategic thinking while developing spatial, computational, and logical reasoning. Division I is for students in grades K and 1: Division II is for students in grades 2 and 3. Come see what Math Pentathlon is all about!

Success In High School: Class of 2022
This one day, Success in High School workshop is designed with the incoming freshman in mind.  In support of our "Strong in Every Way" campaign, we will address the following topics which encourage success in high school: Organizational skills, time-management, study habits, "tricks" to test-taking, reading comprehension, goal-setting & 5-year plans, stress management in high school, finding and using educational resources, note-taking strategies, habits of successful students, and effective use of high school resources and facilities.  This seminar will be beneficial to all 8 graders coming to ZCHS as freshmen next Fall.
